Peking University Yinzhou Joint Research Institute for Digital & Intelligent Health Holds Industry Matching Event

An industry matching conference hosted by the Peking University Yinzhou Joint Research Institute for Digital & Intelligent Health was held in Yinzhou. The event showcased outcomes of university-district cooperation over the past year and connected researchers with industry players to fuel the growth of a vibrant digital health innovation ecosystem.

Officially launched on July 16, 2025, the institute has built solid competitiveness in digital and intelligent health. Drawing on all-life-cycle health data covering millions of residents, it has developed an exclusive data platform and been accredited as a provincial high-end data labeling base. Three remote digital laboratories are now operational, alongside a multi-center regional healthcare big data collaboration network that underpins advanced research.

Focusing on key national priorities, the institute undertakes numerous national research projects and industrial cooperative programs. Working with the National Healthcare Security Administration and National Medical Products Administration, it conducts real-world research on coordinated medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical policies. It has pioneered original technologies including AI early screening for kidney diseases, cardiovascular risk prediction and an AI injury monitoring large model.

The institute is applying for recognition as a host entity for National Natural Science Foundation projects and a provincial postdoctoral workstation. It will introduce a second cohort of top research teams to strengthen talent capacity and form a full chain spanning fundamental research to industrial application.

The conference centered on deployment of AI medical models, real-world data collaboration, incubation of digital therapeutics and joint construction of industry-university-research laboratories. It brought together healthcare enterprises, medical institutions and academic teams for two-way exchanges on technologies, resources and research outputs. Such face-to-face targeted matchmaking accelerates the commercialization of research achievements and optimizes allocation of innovation resources.

Zhu Yu, Deputy Director of the District Health Bureau, noted that university-district collaboration enables in-depth integration of resources, streamlines the translation of scientific advances into products, and creates a complete development loop covering research innovation, business incubation and public health services.

Moving forward, the institute will set up and operate a wholly-owned subsidiary as a market-oriented platform, leveraging digital technologies to upgrade grassroots public health services. By linking data governance, AI R&D and project incubation, it will speed up industrial translation of research results. The institute aims to establish an industry benchmark for deep integration of medicine, industry and research, offering replicable Yinzhou solutions supporting the Healthy China Initiative.
