Yinzhou posted total foreign‑trade import and export volume of 153.67 billion yuan from January to June, a year‑on‑year increase of 10.7 %, 3.8 percentage points above the city‑wide average.

Imports delivered particularly strong performance at 41.71 billion yuan, surging 34.5 % year‑on‑year, nearly 30 percentage points higher than the municipal benchmark. Exports reached 111.95 billion yuan, rising 3.9 % year‑on‑year. Notably, June’s single‑month exports jumped 15.3 %, hitting the highest monthly reading this year. The solid mid‑year results have underpinned overall trade performance and built momentum for further improvement in the second half.

Yinzhou ranks third among all county‑level administrative regions across Zhejiang Province in export volume. This scale is underpinned by well‑established industrial chains, market awareness and sustained development resilience built over decades. Still, the leading position brings no room for complacency. To sustain its edge amid fierce regional competition, Yinzhou must accelerate progress in exploring emerging markets, fostering new business forms and nurturing market players in the second half of the year.

Traditional markets remain a stable foundation while emerging markets serve as new growth drivers. Exports to Europe and the United States together accounted for over 40 % of total outbound shipments in the first half. Mechanical and electrical products boosted exports to the European Union, with June exports climbing 13.8 % and lifting overall EU‑bound exports by 12.6 %. According to an official from Ningbo Qucheng Group, demand for its monitor stands remained robust in Europe, bringing a 29.5 % year‑on‑year order increase in H1. Exports to the United States rose 14.1 % in June, lifting the cumulative growth rate to 8.7 %.

Emerging markets also expanded steadily. Exports to Belt and Road partner countries, Latin America and Africa went up by 2.4 %, 6.7 % and 8.4 % respectively. ASEAN stood out as a bright spot: intermediate‑goods exports to ASEAN hit 6.82 billion yuan, accounting for 61.6 % of total exports to the region and growing 19.1 % year‑on‑year, contributing 11.7 percentage points to total ASEAN‑bound export growth.

Leading platforms act as stabilizers while small and emerging enterprises deliver strong growth. Eight provincial‑level comprehensive foreign‑trade service platforms recorded combined exports of USD 2.38 billion, up 15.4 % year‑on‑year and driving district‑wide export growth by 2.1 percentage points. Platform operators such as Zhongji Huitong leverage digital supply‑chain systems to help thousands of small‑and‑medium manufacturers go global. Firms including Huayi Import & Export and Xuli Metal maintain long‑term clients in European and American markets through responsive flexible supply chains.

New‑entrant exporters represent another encouraging force. A total of 607 new export‑performing enterprises generated an incremental USD 220 million in H1, contributing 1.5 percentage points to export growth. If large platforms are aircraft‑carrier fleets, these newcomers function as agile speedboats, enriching Yinzhou’s vibrant foreign‑trade ecosystem. In addition, 113 micro‑enterprises whose annual exports stood below USD 8 million last year have crossed the USD 8 million threshold, strengthening the base of Yinzhou’s foreign‑trade enterprise pyramid.
