Yinzhou Empowers SMEs to "Set Sail Globally"
Recently, the "First Lesson in Global Expansion" special event was held at Ningbo Huayi Import & Export Co., Ltd., jointly organized by the Ningbo Branch of the National Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Response and Guidance Center and the Yinzhou District Market Supervision Bureau.
During the event, a service station for the Ningbo Branch was officially inaugurated at the company’s comprehensive foreign trade service platform, establishing an intellectual property (IP) "shield" for SMEs engaged in international trade. This marks the first such station set up within a platform enterprise by the Ningbo Branch and the first of its kind in Zhejiang Province.
In recent years, global markets have imposed stricter IP protection requirements. However, overseas IP disputes often demand significant time, financial resources, and manpower—a burden many SMEs cannot bear, dampening their confidence in going global.
To address this challenge, the Yinzhou District Market Supervision Bureau, through its routine enterprise visits, identified the struggles of SMEs on the platform and proposed establishing a dedicated service station. After coordinating with the Ningbo Branch, the station was successfully launched.
Moving forward, the station will leverage Yinzhou’s Rapid IP Protection Center, collaborating with four patent service agencies to form an executive council. With operational support from the National Overseas IP Dispute Response and Guidance Center, as well as guidance from provincial, municipal, and district IP authorities, courts, and judicial bureaus, the station will integrate multi-stakeholder resources to collect and report overseas IP dispute information, provide case-specific guidance, conduct risk prevention training, and coordinate dispute resolution resources. Focusing on cross-border e-commerce, digital trade, and service trade, the station aims to build a comprehensive service network covering risk alerts, case coordination, dispute analysis, and capability enhancement.
To date, Yinzhou has granted 1,626 patents in 2024, a 29.56% year-on-year increase, ranking first citywide—a testament to its thriving IP innovation ecosystem. The new service station further equips enterprises with strategic decision-making support, helping them devise scientific internationalization strategies, seize opportunities in the "global expansion era," and enhance their competitiveness abroad.
