The cultural and tourism market in Yinzhou during the New Year holiday full of vitality

The New Year's Eve event at the Romon U-Park was bustling with people.

During the New Year's Day holiday, driven by sunny weather for many days, the enthusiasm of citizens for traveling was high. Cultural and tourism activities were exciting and diverse, and the cultural and tourism market was popular, safe and in order. On January 1, it's learnt from the Yinzhou District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Film, Tourism and Sports that during this year's New Year's Day holiday, the main scenic spots in the Yinzhou District received 167,800 tourists, with a year-on-year increase of 357.19%, achieving a revenue of 7.5872 million yuan, increased by 683.49% year on year. Among them, the three main scenic spots in the Dongqian Lake area received 58,000 tourists, with a year-on-year increase of 404.16%, and a revenue of 2.2854 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 602.18%, which have exceeded the level of the same period in 2019. 

This year, more and more consumers are choosing to enjoy New Year's Eve activities on the occasion of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new. Watching fireworks, attending concerts, and watching the sunrise have become standard features for pursuing a ceremonial lifestyle. These new activities have become the consumption highlights of the New Year's Day cultural and tourism market in 2024. 

On the last day of the Year 2023, at the Dongqian Lake Beach Camp, a New Year's Eve party called "Unlimited by the Lake, Wild Party" attracted nearly 3,000 tourists. Tourists sat around the warm campfire, enjoying the atmosphere of brewing tea and barbecuing. The artificial snowfall of the snow maker added a romantic and warm atmosphere to the scene. With the countdown to the New Year and the lighting of fireworks, the New Year's bell rang across the beach, and the onsite tourists made their wishes together. 

At a candlelight concert in the Ningbo Cultural Square, the audience had a grand and solemn farewell ceremony for 2023 amidst the dual enjoyment of audio-visual experience; inside the IPN fishing vessel factory, activities such as naked eye 3D countdown, New Year's Fair, stamp ceremony, band performance, Top 100 DJs, IP exhibitions, etc. created a scene of vitality, opening a New Year's journey for citizens and tourists; a special New Year's Eve performance at the Romon U-Park and EC ROMON Electronic Music Festival were celebrated until late at night, and the countdown to the New Year ignited the atmosphere to its climax... 

During the New Year's Day holiday, local tours, tours to surrounding areas, and short-distance tours remain the top choices of the public to travel. Cultural and museum venues, intangible cultural heritage, and folk customs have become the main engines of holiday travel, especially high-quality cultural and tourism products, which continue to rise in popularity. 

In the Ningbo Museum, New Year activities such as New Year's greetings, taking photos at popular sceneries, good-luck seeking, and interactive quizzes attracted a constant stream of tourists to participate. "During the 3-day New Year's Day holiday, the number of visitors to the museum reached around 10,000." The person in charge of the Ningbo Museum said. 

With the increase of visitors in the museum, various handicraft souvenirs and small commodities with unique characteristics of Yinzhou were favored by the public in cultural and creative stores, and the sales volume of cultural and creative products significantly increased compared to those in the past. In addition to traditional handicraft products, creative food in some new consumption scenarios has also become popular among young people. 

At the Yinzhou Cloth Drying Art Exhibition, the "Bougainvillea" Wall Decoration Exhibition, the "Perfect" Works Exhibition, the National Style Splicing Cloth Exhibition, and the "Hongbang Tailors" Inheritance Class of the Fashion Design major at the Ningbo Gaode Technical School, namely the Outstanding Cloth series of works exhibition provided by students also attracted many tourists to stop and enjoy. During the New Year's Day holiday, it's quite difficult to reserve a room from many hotels in Yinzhou. The data shows that the average room occupancy rate of major accommodation facilities in the Yinzhou District reached 65.94%, with a year-on-year increase of 169.50%. Among them, the average room occupancy rate of hotels in the Dongqian Lake area was 57.25%, with a year-on-year increase of 120.04%. Exceeding 80% of the rooms of the New Century Grand Hotel, the New Century Hotel, and the Jiangdong Teckon Ciel Hotel were reserved; as for hotels in the Dongqian Lake area, the occupancy rate of the Howard & Johnson reached 79.17%, the Ningbo Narada Dongqian Lake Resort 68.77%, the Cordis 67.25%, the Wanjin Radisson 64.33%, and the Huamao Hilton 60.00%, all of which are over 60%.
