Yinzhou District successfully developed into a "Natural Oxygen Bar in China"
At the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, the Ningbo Wildlife Park boasts charming lake and mountain sceneries, green trees, flowing water, and tourists, creating a beautiful scene where people and nature are in harmony. Adhering to the concept of original ecology, full protection of animals and natural ecology, the Ningbo Wildlife Park has continuously carried out wildlife protection, science education and scientific researches in recent years, and is committed to building an original ecological immersion theme park integrating animal protection and viewing.
This year, the Ningbo Wildlife Park applied to the Yinzhou District Meteorological Bureau for being awarded with the plaque of "Natural Oxygen Bar in China". In the middle of August, the Yinzhou District Meteorological Bureau randomly measured the concentration of negative oxygen ions in the scenic spots inside the park. The highest concentration of negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter at three sites, namely, Jungle Wonderland, Love Mountain and Cute Square, reached 2,616, 1,918 and 2,101 respectively. According to comprehensive researches, the Ningbo Wildlife Park has a high concentration of negative oxygen ions, fresh air, high vegetation coverage and forest coverage, meeting the conditions for being awarded with the honor of "Natural Oxygen Bar in China".
Wang Jie, Head of the Yinzhou District Meteorological Station, said that animals often like to live in places with fresh air. Whether the ecological environment is good or not, animals have a "say". The monitoring data of negative oxygen ion concentration in the air also provides data support for biodiversity conservation in the park, and also reference for the daily life and travel of local residents.
It is learnt that negative oxygen ions, known as "air vitamins", can affect human physiological activities through the process of human nervous system and blood circulation. When people enter a site with high concentration of negative oxygen ions, they will feel fresh and enjoy comfortable breathing. The concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air is one of the indicators of good or bad air quality. Those with more than 1,000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter are of relatively with high concentration. The World Health Organization stipulates the standard concentration of negative oxygen ions in fresh air, and China has also included the concentration of negative oxygen ions in the meteorological monitoring system.
