Bailiang Bridge
Bailiang Bridge,generally called Xiaoxijiang Bridge in ancient times,is located at Bailiangqiao Village,Dongqiao Town,Yinzhou District.As one of the ten admirable bridges in Ningbo,the bridge was originally constructed in Northern Song Dynasty,tracing back to 925 years.Lying across the Yin River,it is the sole longest ancient gallery bridge with wooden beam and stone pier in Zhejiang province,indeed a hard-won sample of studying ancient bridges,enjoying grand vigor,structural integrity and long-lasting history.Equipped with six piers and seven holes,the bridge,with a length of 77.4m and a width of 6.18m,has also tiled bridge gallery.The entitlement as "Bailiang Bridge"(which means a hundred beams in Chinese)actually came from its bridge beams erected with 124 red wood trunks.
