Village-Zoumatang

Located at Jiangshan Town of Yinzhou District,the ancient Zoumatang Village,through continuous arduous work and hard study,ever since ancient times,has been producing its men of ability in every generation consisting of 152 mandarins,of which 4 were ministers in ancient China,76 imperial examination's candidates and 111 state students and granary students,deserving the name of "China's First Imperial Examination's Candidates Village."As a typical ancient village at south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River,Zoumatang bears most of its ancient architecures with styles of Ming and Qing Dynasties,while stone,brick and wood carvings as well as ancient trees could be accessed herein everywhere.The water system is both unique and full of brightness,not only linking up all the houses in the village,but also functioning well enough to reserve and discharge water,to control flood and facilitate irrigation as well as to prevent fire hazard.
