Ningbo Lishe Airport, technically a Class 4D airport, is provided with advanced communication and navigation control systems and may accommodate large and medium-size planes such as Md-82, Boeing-737, Boeing-757.
The airport currently operates 38 domestic, international or local-service airlines, including the lines to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Xi'an, Xiamen, Nanchang, Haikou, Shantou, Shenzhen, Changsha, Nanjing, Kunming, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Zhuhai, Hefei, Guilin, Chongqin, Dalian, Qingdao, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Harbin, Urumchi, Fukuoka (Japan), Incheon (Korea), Bangkok (Thailand), Hong Kong, Macao, Kaohsiung (Taiwan). The airport handled total 1,278,000 passengers and total 25,000-ton cargo in 2002. In 2002, Lishe Airport complated the investment of 770 million yuan to construct. It is among the busiest airports of China.

In 2002, Lishe Airport complated the investment of 770 million yuan to construct a terminal building of 43,500 square meters, underground car parks of 13,300 square meters and an apron of 87,000 square meters together with all necessary production and living facilities. Therefore the airport will be able to handle 3,800,000 passengers a year or 1700 passengers per hour at peak time and handle 46,700 ton cargo a year, enabling such planes as MD-11 and 747-SP to land and take off.
