Zheng Shanjie visits Yinzhou for the inspection, guidance and emphasis of emergency rescue and disaster relief
The Super Typhoon Lekima has had a serious impact on Ningbo, and the task of post-disaster reconstruction is very arduous. In the morning of August 11, Zheng Shanjie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, made a visit to Yinzhou for the inspection, guidance and emphasis of emergency rescue and disaster relief, requiring that every department at all levels take the emergency rescue and disaster relief as the major content of themed education of “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind”, that deployment made by the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government be resolutely implemented, that the “3 Services” be further carried out, and that we all committed to helping disaster-affected areas to restore normal order and rebuild our beautiful home as soon as possible.
Shengjiang Village in the Dongwu Town is low-lying, and under the attack of heavy rainfall, almost every household in the Village is flooded. The flood water in some houses in the Village is as high as 1.6 meters. Zheng Shanjie visited villagers who had suffered from the disaster from door to door and asked about their living conditions. “How bad their houses are flooded? What’s the loss? Can household electrical appliances still work properly?” Zheng Shanjie was relieved to learn that with the help of village cadres, armed police and volunteers, the drainage work of the village had basically been completed and the lives of the affected villagers were gradually returning back to normal. Zheng required that the local government departments continue to help the mass public to clean their courtyards, settle insurance claims, self-help agricultural production, and timely implement the river dredging program for enhancing flood storage capacity, and solve the flood disaster in the Village from the root.
Later on, Zheng Shanjie went to the Tongyi Village, learning in detail the use of disaster shelters and planning for after-disaster health care and epidemic prevention. He said that transfer and resettlement of the masses is an important part of the anti-typhoon work and that good practices and good experiences of the Tongyi Village be summarized and popularized in an all-round way. “Thank you for your hard work and help.” Zheng Shanjie said to the village cadres, anti-epidemic workers and volunteers. He also required that health and epidemic prevention work be conscientiously carried out without leaving one house or one place out for making sure of no epidemic after the catastrophe.
The Tiantong Scenic Spot, at the foot of the Taibai Mountain, is a total mess after the disaster. Zheng Shanjie walked along the rugged and disorderly mountain road until he reached 2 small ponds over 300 meters above the sea level to investigate the potential risk of mountain torrents and geological disasters. He required that on one hand, district and municipal governmental departments accelerate the progress of rescue and disaster relief and restore the order of scenic spot as soon as possible under the condition of ensuring safety, and on the other hand, related departments focus on long-term development and put forth a protective system that integrates prevention from mountain torrents, geological disasters and forest fires for making the Tiantong scenic spot a charming and safe place to travel. Zheng Shanjie also extended his gratitude and condolences to officers and soldiers of the Armed Police Force fighting in the front for emergency rescue and disaster relief in Tiantong.
Zheng Shanjie emphasized that we adhere to the principle that the people come first, solve the difficulties of the affected people with all our heart, and act in accordance with our original mission when people need help the most, that we persist in devoting full efforts and organize cadres and soldiers of the army in Ningbo, militias and volunteers to devote themselves to disaster relief and the rescue work, give full play to the main role of the affected people, and form a strong joint force to tide over difficulties and build a common homeland, and that we adhere to overall planning and give consideration to both the efficient and orderly promotion of rescue and disaster relief work and the scientific planning and implementation of measures to remedy shortcomings and prevent risks, so as to further improve the ability to prevent all kinds of natural disasters.
Within the inspection delegation, there were also leaders, including Hu Jun, Shi Huifang, Chu Yinliang, Wang Zhaobo and Chen Hong and so on.
