The Yinzhou District Learning from Lei Feng Themed Volunteer Service Month launched

The Lei Feng spirit can be learnt by everyone; dedicating love can be done everywhere. On March 2, 2024, the Yinzhou District Learning from Lei Feng Themed Volunteer Service Month was launched in the Panhuo Subdistrict, releasing a big data report on volunteer services, awarding outstanding volunteer representatives, and conducting a large-scale public welfare activity to promote the active and effective participation of new employment groups in grassroots social governance. 

This event was organized by the Social Work Department of the CPC Yinzhou District Committee (Working Committee of the New Economic Organization and New Social Organization of the CPC Yinzhou District Committee), assisted by the Yinzhou District Office for Civilization Promotion, the Yinzhou District Federation of Trade Unions, the Youth League Yinzhou District Committee, and the Yinzhou District Transportation Bureau, and undertaken by the Panhuo Subdistrict. 

At the event, relevant big data was released. Currently, there are over 300,000 registered volunteers and over 5,000 volunteer organizations in the Yinzhou District; in 2023, the total duration of volunteer services provided reached 4.3986 million hours for 12,000 volunteer service activities with 172,600 participants and 901,200 person times. Meanwhile, according to the big data ranking, the Dongsheng Subdistrict is the most active town/ subdistrict in carrying out annual volunteer service activities; the Panhuo Subdistrict New Era Civilization Volunteer Service Team is the town/ subdistrict level team with the most time of providing volunteer services; the Zhanhong Community New Era Civilization Volunteer Service Team is the village/ community level team with the most time of providing volunteer services, and the most popular volunteer service activity content is civilization creation. 

Over the past year, volunteer services in Yinzhou have made fruitful achievements, achieving outstanding results with 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 2 outstanding awards at the 4th Zhejiang Province Volunteer Service Project Competition 2023. The specifications and quantity of awards have reached a new historical high; in the "Six 10" lists of volunteer services in the Ningbo City, Yinzhou has won a total of 10 outstanding awards, accounting for 1/6 of the total in the city and ranking the first in terms of the total number of awards; a group of individuals and units have emerged as the best, including the "Sharing Grandma" mutual volunteer assistance service and the "Understanding a Sentence" national cultural and artistic publicity volunteer service and so on. At the event, advanced models providing volunteer services in 2023 were commended onsite. Volunteer service representatives took the stage and issued an initiative called "Together We Volunteer for Civilization Creation", calling on everyone to be practitioners of civilized behavior and to take the lead in starting from oneself and every little bit detail. 

The new employment group is one of the most active groups in the society, an important force in supporting urban construction and economic development, and an indispensable participant in grassroots governance. The Panhuo Subdistrict will create the first new-employment-group-friendly block. Chen Long, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Haijingyuan Community, went on stage to perform a roadshow for the new-employment-group-friendly block project in the Yinzhou District. During the event, a map of stations providing heartwarming services for new employment groups in the Yinzhou District and the Heartwarming Plan for new employment groups in the Yinzhou District were also released, sharing heartwarming stories of new employment groups. 

Yinzhou tailors a list of heartwarming block services for the new employment groups, having established four categories of heartwarming stations with unified identification and diverse functions for providing services for the Party and the masses, services of catering and cuisine, cultural and entertainment services, and services for the convenience of the people, to provide new employment groups with services such as rest, charging, drinking water, dining, haircuts, and free clinics and so on. The Heartwarming Plan for new employment groups in the Yinzhou District includes 10 projects, such as the "Sharing Grandma" - Dongqianhu Qingquan Community Volunteer Mutual Aid Service Project, the Love to Light the Stars - Autism Children and Family Assistance Volunteer Service Project, and the "4T Investigation Society" Youth Safety and Legal Experience Officer Project, the Yinzhou District Xingsi Young Uncle Mediation Service Center's Youth Consumption Rights Protection Volunteer Project and so on. 

At the event, the "Zhi 61th - New Youth · Youth in Yinzhou" Learning from Lei Feng themed volunteer service action, Citywalk public welfare route, etc., and so on were also released. Cultural performances, including the allegro of "Dreaming of Lei Feng" brought by the "Yin Ling" cultural and artistic publicity group, the scene dance of "Silver-Haired Volunteers' Joy Tour of Providing Volunteer Services", and the reciting of "Where Are You, Uncle Lei Feng?" brought by the Yinzhou District New Era Civilization Practice Youth Troupe, were full of positive energy of "practicing the spirit of Lei Feng in the new era and spreading the concept of volunteer services.". 

In the morning on that day, more than 30 volunteer service teams from the Tianhe Emergency, the units for assisting "star" youth in getting used to life and work in the society, the Yinzhou Xinhua Bookstore's Jinmi and so on carried out a large-scale public welfare activity by setting up stalls to provide volunteer services and exhibiting activities of themselves onsite, attracting a large number of people to participate.
