Yinzhou public fitness competition activities in 2024 launched

In the morning of March 10, the Launching Ceremony of the Yinzhou Public Fitness Competition Activities 2024 & Yunlong Town's Third "Dragon Heads-raising Day" Event were held at the Yunlong Town Dragon Boat Base. Unlike previous years, as the first stop of the public fitness competition activities, this year's Yunlong Town's Third "Dragon Heads-raising Day" Event not only features an exciting dragon boat water parade, but also includes land tours, intangible cultural heritage experience, and cuisine tasting and so on. In just one morning, it attracted thousands of citizens and tourists to participate. Arrangements for major sports events and public fitness activities of different scales in Yinzhou in 2024 were also released onsite.
On March 10, the Yunda Road was bustling with activities. Before 7 o'clock in the morning, enthusiasts of public fitness, drum and gong teams, and dry land dragon boat teams arrived at the scene one after another. At 7:28 a.m., the land parade officially began, accompanied by passionate drumbeats and resounding gongs, the dragon and lion team meandered through the crowd. It is learnt that the land parade teams are divided into 10 formations, including teams for gongs and drums playing, floats, dragons and lions dancing, dryland dragon, and dragon boat, and so on. It is worth mentioning that the representative zodiac sign of the formation composed of the mass public is the dragon, with the youngest person being 13 years old and the oldest 73 years old.
"The Yinzhou Public Fitness Competition Activities 2024 will follow requirements on developing an 'event cluster of the first batch in the Zhejiang Province', and will release ten major events, one hundred selected events, and a thousand rounds of competitions, with tens of thousands of people participating. The activities would cover nearly 30 projects such as tennis, football, sailing, and drones, etc., achieving full coverage of comprehensive sports activities." Sun Jing, Director of the Yinzhou District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Film, Tourism and Sports, said.
"1, 2, 3, dragon boat, go!" Carrying the beautiful blessings of fellow countrymen, and the anticipation for the new year, 20 dragon boats competed to enter the water, rowing out from the dragon boat base. They split into two routes and set sail, with oars falling and water splashing. The shore was filled with the sound of drums and gongs, and together with the sound and waves of the water, they rose and fell one after another.
The dragon boat water parade routes this time are divided into Yunlong area and Jiacun area, with a total length of 16.27 kilometers and 19.95 kilometers respectively, passing through the "Water Embroidery Yunlong" roaming line and the city level boutique and poetic line of "River Rhyme" that are currently being developed. The places where the dragon boats go are bustling with joy and laughter. People either wait at the village entrance, at the bridgehead, by the shore, or look out from a higher place, praying together for the "Dragon Heads-raising Day" amidst fireworks and the sound of waist drums and bronze gongs.
In addition, the Yinzhou District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Film, Tourism and Sports also launched the "Tasty Zhejiang · Ten Bowls in Yinzhou" Cuisine Tasting activity at the Dragon Boat Base, presenting the black rice cake which won the first place among the top ten delicious dim-sum in the Zhejiang Province, the traditional round dark brown rice cake which won the fifth place, the "Yinzhou Ten Bowls" characteristic dim-sum of dragon and phoenix golden cake, and Dasong steamed bun and so on, as well as the "Yu Ren Rowing -Yu Ren Wine Flavored Duck" from the Yunlong Town, one of the hot dishes of "Yinzhou Ten Bowls".
